We are able once again, to hold our annual art exhibition of the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) with thanks to the generous assistance to the personnel of the World Intellectual Property Organization who open the Atrium to house our exhibition. Each year we can present diverse artworks from our various member artists of the Guild to show a wide range of cultural and artistic talents as well as showcasing creativity in a multitude of forms and using many techniques. We have 24 artists this year exhibiting artworks such as acrylic paintings, pastels, photography, painting on silk and porcelain, jewellery and handicrafts.

The UNWG Art Exhibition Organizing Committee have worked for over 2 months to ensure that the exhibition runs smoothly. The Committee comprises Radiona Nikova, Vice-President Activities, Caroline Scudamore, Head of the Arts and Creations workshop and the Photo Club, Theophilia Adjanohoun, member Executive Committee, Gulsen Python, Marjorie Herrera, Olena Melnyk and Zohreh Stenbolt. Our roles cover the financial side, the organization of the publicity for the exhibition, production of the poster and brochure, the organizing of the catering service for the opening and closing ceremony to name just some of the tasks.

We look forward to welcoming you from 11:30 on 25 February and at the closing of the exhibition at 11:00 on 7 March in the New Building, Atrium 1 at the World Intellectual Property Organization. At the opening ceremony on 25 February at 11:30 we will have a poetic performance by Carmen Campo Real and at the closing on 7 March at 11:00 our star of opera, Armenian mezzo-soprano Varduhi Khachatryan, has developed a programme specially for this occasion and to also celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March this will be followed by a show of national costumes.
