While on reportage, I wish I was invisible. But since that power isn’t listed on my résumé, discretion and camouflage remain my best weapons, especially when working as close to my subjects as possible.

However, at that range, you get noticed more often than not. While an inhospitable look might call for caution, a friendly one can create a nice moment of complicity.

Either way, I carry on until I get the shot!
