Diana Lütgehetmann and Linoy Markram, the co-founders of She/Crea discuss why they have created and launched She/Crea, a space designed to support women to achieve their goals.
You don’t have to dig deep to find evidence of inequality between men and women in Switzerland—a surprising reality in a country so prosperous but a sad truth, nonetheless. In 2020, for example, the Federal Office for Gender Equality published figures showing that Switzerland’s gender pay gap was among the starkest in Europe. Women earned, on average, nearly 20% less than men for equivalent work. Equally, the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (FSO) indicates that in 2022, women felt more stressed and emotionally exhausted at work than men. Well, Lausanne-based Diana Lütgehetmann and Linoy Markram say enough is enough.
“We are tired of seeing amazing women around us struggle with the same challenges—feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and as though they cannot reach their full potential,” says Diana, co-founder of She/Crea, a new platform specifically designed to empower women. She explains that one of the missing pieces in the fight for broader equality is targeted support to help women excel in their lives. “Despite all the evidence, enough isn’t being done to enable women to achieve their goals. Even in Switzerland, with its progressive image, one in seven women do not return to work after maternity leave – they vanish from the workforce. Those who try to return often find no place for themselves anymore or are forced to pivot. We’re not okay with that.”
A recent study found that nearly 30% of working women in Switzerland experience emotional exhaustion, a key indicator of burnout. (Source: Job Stress Index 2022). “Women deserve a space to address these challenges head-on, to connect, and to rise together,” says Linoy, co-founder of She/Crea. “Community and mutual support are key here. Women need a space to connect with their strengths, find clarity, and design a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.”
To achieve that, She/Crea focuses on the importance of visual clarity. By using a design-driven approach, users are more likely to achieve their life goals and stay on track, they explain, especially in today’s always-on culture of constant communication and content consumption. “In a world overwhelmed with content, visuals do more than capture attention—they improve retention and foster deeper understanding. Instead of encouraging passive consumption, our interactive tools help women transform insights from self-discovery into actionable steps. They simplify progress tracking, provide clarity, and boost motivation,” says Diana.
Accessibility has been a key focus for the creators, especially given the challenges many women already face in terms of pay and support. “Every woman deserves the opportunity to invest in her personal growth, regardless of her financial situation. That’s why we don’t impose fixed fees for our users—we prioritize accessibility and empowerment,” says Diana. She emphasizes that trust and community among women are essential to the success of this approach. “Our core program features a flexible pricing model where community members pay what they can. We trust women to contribute based on their ability, ensuring our resources are available to those who might otherwise be excluded. This is just the first step in our ongoing commitment to accessibility.”
Their commitment goes beyond simply allowing users to choose their contribution to join She/Crea. It extends to the organization’s Empowerment Fund, a dedicated resource aimed at supporting those in the greatest need. “This fund is specifically designed to assist women facing financial hardship. We understand that traditional funding routes can be particularly challenging for women, and we want to change that. This fund provides a tangible boost to those who need it most,” says Linoy.
She/Crea has committed a portion of every payment they receive to their Empowerment Fund and plans to introduce new, innovative ways to fundraise and raise awareness of their mission. “We want to empower women to feel confident about pivoting into new careers. Our goal is to provide resources that help women access training, education, and support for those bold steps into new professional paths. Additionally, we aim to see more women launch their own businesses. We’ll offer seed funding and mentorship to women entrepreneurs who are ready to take the leap and turn their dreams into reality,” says Linoy.
The sense of anticipation and excitement about She/Crea’s mission and its future goals was palpable among the women interviewed during the research behind the platform, say Diana and Linoy. “We are thrilled to see this community grow and to witness the incredible things women can achieve with the right support. We will continue to add new resources, refine our tools, and ensure that every woman feels welcome and supported. In the long run, we dream of creating a global movement of empowered women who are changing the world for the better.”
